Felt really bad after listening Pratyusha Banerjee's Suicide. May her soul rest in peace.
Its sad that instead of understanding the root cause, people are making different stories. But who knows what is the actual truth. Who knows what she was going through. Its not easy to commit suicide and bring your existence to end. Any individual will never take this step until they completely lose hope and they don't have anyone to share their worries, their problems.
Slowly the person goes in DEPRESSION, without even realizing it.
Nobody runs from their responsibilities, everyone have problems in their lives with which they deal. But nobody understands when it is transformed into depression, anxiety. And sadly in our society its taken as depression is not considered as a disease. Even the person in depression will not accept the fact just because of our lame society concerns.
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics reveal that a total of 1,35,445 people committed suicide in 2012 which amounts to an average of 15 suicides an hour or 371 suicides daily. Maharashtra ranked second on the suicide index with Tamil Nadu topping it.
And I guess, till then its increasing only day by day as we don't come across each and every suicide.

Its high time now, our society needs to be aware of this illness. Depression requires medical as well as personal attention as any other physical ailment does. It is just a mental illness which can be treated. Don't treat the person as if he is insane. Our society tends to believe if a person consults a doctor for depression then the person is just insane. No, he is not. He is just going through a mental illness like any other physical illness. If unrecognized, this also keep getting worse over time.
Stop interpreting it as selfishness or weakness or attention-seeking. Its an illness, help your close ones from getting into it. Make them believe you are there for them and will always be.
Its our responsibility to create awareness regarding depression. Nobody alone can do it. We have to be together and create awareness to help our people. So that nobody takes this ailment as craziness.
Lets come together and create awareness regarding these serious issues which are damaging our society internally.
